WHA Little Eagles In-House Program

The Westmoreland Hockey Association "Little Eagles" Program is an in-house program designed for new and beginner level players who are looking to experience the sport of ice hockey. The Little Eagles program gives players a fun, safe and competitive playing atmosphere from ages 4 to 10 years old. Whether you are coming from the Little Pens Learn-to-Play program or you are a looking to have your child learn in a more structured environment, our program will give you the practice time necessary to advance your skills and enjoy the game of hockey! The Little Eagles operate as a feeder system for our WHA 8U Mite Program.

NEW FOR 2021. Little Eagles practices have moved to Tuesday evenings starting at 7:20 pm. This is a shared ice slot with the 8U Mite skaters. Westmoreland Hockey hopes that this change will allow In-House players to benefit from the coaching staff, developmental structure and station-based practices as implemented for our travel Mite program. Little Eagles players will participate at their own pace, as a group, and will not be expected to keep up with the Mite skaters.

  • Beginner or new players from ages 4 – 10 are eligible.
  • Program begins on October 4, 2022 and continues through mid-March 2023.
  • Practices will be held once a week. Tuesdays from 7:20 pm to 8:20pm.
  • Cost of the Little Eagles Program is $375 and includes:
    • Registration Fee
    • Game Jersey
    • Hockey Socks
    • Helmet Stickers
    • Participation in the 12th Annual Laurel Mite 8U Jamboree in March 2023.
      • Eligibility based upon birth year 2014 or later.
    • Invitation to the Season End Banquet at Dave & Busters and a player gift!
  • Enrollment after Dec. 1 is $300.

To Register:

  • Registration is now available on our website through Sports Engine
  • Questions: please email WHA Board Member Lauren Gradwell at westmorelandhockeyregistrar@gmail.com.

If your child has no skating experience, please enroll them in Kirk Nevin Arena’s Learn to Skate Program before registering for the Little Eagles Program.
